We carry out PAT checks in order to safeguard individuals and properties, mitigating the risk of electrical accidents and ensuring compliance with the UK's legal safety regulations for electrical equipment. All our testing is carried out in accordance with the current IET Code of Practice for In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment.
Formal Visual Inspections: A thorough visual check of the appliance, cable, and plug to identify cracks, burns, loose wires, missing screws, or signs of overheating before any electronic testing begins.
Combined Inspection & Testing: Using professional test instruments, we perform advanced electrical safety tests tailored to the appliance type, including earth continuity testing for Class 1 equipment and insulation resistance testing for both Class 1 and Class 2 appliances.
Risk Assessment Consultations: There is no universal "once a year" rule in the UK; instead, testing frequency should be based on a structured risk assessment. We help you determine the appropriate testing intervals based on the equipment type, environment, and usage.
Minor On-Site Repairs: To help your equipment pass, we provide simple fixes during testing, such as fitting replacement plug fuses and replacement plug tops for an additional cost.
Comprehensive Documentation & Certification: Upon completion, every tested appliance receives a clear "Pass" or "Fail" label detailing the date of the test. You will also be provided with a detailed asset register and an official Certificate of Electrical Appliance Testing for your compliance records.
Landlords & HMOs: We help private and social landlords meet their legal duties to ensure supplied appliances (like kettles, fridges, and washing machines) are safe for tenants, which is particularly crucial for HMO licence compliance.
Offices, Retail & Commercial: Testing for general office IT equipment (PCs, monitors, printers) and breakroom appliances to protect your staff and the public from harm.
Construction & Industrial: Frequent, rigorous safety checks, including the testing of 110V equipment on construction sites every 3 months, and standard checks for workshops and industrial environments.
Hospitality & Schools: Ensuring electrical safety in high-traffic environments, from commercial kitchens to classrooms.
